Fortnite Leak Points to Chapter 3 OG Return in 2026

A Blast from the Chapter 3 Past

Fortnite is looking far into the future. Even as players grind through the current season, data miners have already peered years ahead. Recent files uncovered in the v36.10 update suggest Epic Games is preparing for a massive throwback event. But it isn’t happening anytime soon. Instead, the clues point to a nostalgic trip back to Chapter 3, currently slated for November 2026.

The discovery comes courtesy of the game’s active leaking community. While digging through the latest patch files, data miners found references to classic Chapter 3 points of interest. Two names stood out immediately: Rave Cave and Sanctuary. For veterans of the island, these locations carry a lot of weight. They represent an era when Fortnite was rapidly evolving its movement mechanics and map design.

Reliving the Glory of Rave Cave and Sanctuary

Rave Cave was an absolute vibe. Built inside the hollowed-out remains of Command Cavern, it served as the island’s ultimate party hub. It featured flashing neon lights, a dance floor with a DJ booth, and a massive roller coaster track. Players could hop into Ballers—those beloved glass spheres with grapple guns—and zip around the peak of the mountain. It was chaotic, loud, and incredibly fun.

On the other side of the map stood Sanctuary. The contrast couldn’t have been sharper. Sanctuary was a serene, earthy settlement. It served as the home base for The Seven, the mysterious group that protected the Zero Point. Surrounded by small crop fields and guarded by a towering statue of the Foundation, it was the go-to drop spot for players who preferred a quieter, lore-heavy start to their matches.

The OG Formula is Here to Stay

Epic Games struck gold with its first “Fortnite OG” season in late 2023. That month-long event brought back the original Chapter 1 map and shattered player count records overnight. It proved that nostalgia is one of Epic’s most powerful weapons. Since then, fans have wondered how far the developers would push this strategy. While a Chapter 2 OG season is widely rumored to arrive much sooner, these new leaks show that Epic’s roadmap stretches years into the future.

Why November 2026? The timing fits an emerging pattern. Epic seems to view these legacy seasons as annual late-year events. They serve as a great way to boost player engagement during the holidays when everyone has more free time. By waiting until 2026, Epic is giving Chapter 3 enough breathing room to feel genuinely retro. By the time November 2026 rolls around, it will have been nearly four years since players last saw that version of the island.

A Turning Point in Fortnite History

It’s easy to forget how much Chapter 3 changed the game. Launched in December 2021 after the island literally flipped upside down, it introduced sliding and mantling. These movement mechanics are so fundamental now that it’s hard to imagine playing without them. It was also the era that birthed Zero Build, a mode that permanently altered Fortnite’s player base by stripping away the building mechanic entirely.

Of course, a leak this far in advance requires a bit of caution. Game development is fluid. Plans can change, dates can get pushed back, and files found in the backend can sometimes be leftovers from abandoned internal projects. However, the presence of these specific assets in the v36.10 update shows that Epic is actively planning for the long haul. Fortnite fans have plenty of content to look forward to in the meantime, but the promise of a return to Rave Cave will certainly keep the community talking for years to come.
