Fortnitemares 2026: Five Nights at Freddy’s Collab Launches Today
It finally happened. After years of rumors, false starts, and endless fan concepts, Freddy Fazbear is officially in Fortnite. The beloved and terrifying animatronic mascot leads the charge for Fortnitemares 2026, which launched early this morning with a massive update that completely transforms the island.
For years, Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon and Epic Games kept their cards close to their chest. Every October, community leakers predicted a crossover, only to be met with silence. But today, the wait ended. When the Item Shop reset this morning, the classic animatronic crew took center stage, immediately sending the community into a frenzy.
The Animatronics Storm the Item Shop
Players logging into Fortnite today will find a massive selection of FNAF-themed cosmetics. The headline act is Freddy Fazbear himself. Epic Games designed his skin with incredible attention to detail, complete with a built-in emote that mimics his iconic, eerie music-box laugh when the lights go out. He looks exactly as he did in the original 2014 horror game, complete with subtle scuff marks and a slightly oily sheen on his plastic shell.
Freddy isn’t alone, though. The shop also features Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. Chica comes bundled with her iconic companion, Carl the Cupcake, who sits snugly as a reactive back bling. When you get an elimination, the cupcake’s eyes glow a bright, menacing yellow. Foxy’s skin features his signature pirate hook as a harvesting tool, while Bonnie comes with his classic red guitar. Individual skins are priced at 1,500 V-Bucks, while a mega-bundle containing all four characters and their respective gear is retailing for 3,800 V-Bucks.
A Haunted Pizzeria on the Island
The collaboration goes far beyond simple cosmetics. Epic Games has overhauled the northern sector of the Battle Royale map, replacing the standard suburban houses with a brand-new point of interest: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The location is shrouded in a permanent fog, and the classic neon sign flickers ominously.

Inside the building, players will find a recreation of the infamous security office and the main stage. But exploring isn’t safe. NPC animatronics roam the dark corridors. While they don’t attack with weapons, they will jump-scare players who wander too close to the shadows, temporarily blinding them and draining their shields. It adds a genuine layer of survival horror to the standard Battle Royale loop, forcing players to keep their ears open for the sound of heavy metal footsteps.
Classic Fortnitemares Features Return
While the Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover is the main attraction, Fortnitemares 2026 has plenty of other tricks up its sleeve. The fan-favorite Horde Rush mode makes its return today. In this cooperative mode, squads must team up to fight off waves of Cube Monsters while moving across the map. This year’s version includes new bosses and a few surprises hidden in the final circles.
Epic has also unvaulted some classic Halloween weapons. The Pumpkin Launcher is back, firing explosive jack-o’-lanterns that cackle as they fly through the air. Witch Brooms are also back in the loot pool, giving players a quick way to escape tight spots by launching themselves into the sky and gliding to safety. New quests have also gone live, offering players the chance to earn free spooky cosmetics, including a black cat glider and a jack-o’-lantern pickaxe, just by playing matches and completing challenges.
How the Community is Reacting
Social media has exploded since the update went live. Streamers and competitive players alike are sharing clips of their first encounters inside the spooky pizzeria. The general consensus is highly positive, with fans praising Epic for staying true to the creepy atmosphere of the original horror franchise.
The Fortnitemares 2026 event is scheduled to run from today until November 3. Given the sheer scale of the FNAF collab, players have plenty of time to explore the haunted pizzeria, complete their challenges, and grab their favorite animatronic skins before they rotate out of the shop.
