Fortnite Launches Disney Chronicles Store With Pixar and Villain Skins
Fortnite players can finally buy classic Disney and Pixar gear from a dedicated, permanent space in the game. Epic Games launched the “Chronicles” digital storefront on Tuesday, introducing a massive wave of customizable skins, emotes, and accessories. The release brings some of cinema’s most famous heroes and villains straight to the Battle Royale island.
This isn’t just another quick crossover event. The Chronicles shop is a permanent fixture. It represents the first major rollout from Disney’s massive $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games earlier this year. The goal is to build a sprawling, persistent digital world, and this new store is the first physical anchor of that promise.
Classic Villains and Pixar Favorites Take Center Stage
The initial lineup focuses on two distinct vibes: childhood nostalgia and sinister style. Players can purchase legendary Disney villains like Maleficent, Hades from Hercules, and Cruella de Vil. Each character comes with a suite of matching gear. Maleficent has her spinning wheel as a back bling, while Hades wields his signature dark underworld energy as a harvesting tool.
On the Pixar side, customization is the main selling point. The new outfits, inspired by franchises like The Incredibles and Toy Story, let players tweak their appearance in ways older Fortnite skins never allowed. You can swap color palettes, toggle helmets on and off, and even change the expressions on your character’s face during gameplay. It adds a level of personalization that fans have been demanding for months.
“We wanted to give players more than just static costumes,” says Epic Games VP of digital ecosystem development, Saxs Persson. “These are beloved characters, but Fortnite is about self-expression. By adding deep customization, players can make these icons feel like their own unique avatars.”

Pricing and Bundle Details
As expected, these high-profile cosmetics come with a premium price tag. Individual skins are priced between 1,500 and 2,000 V-Bucks. For players who want everything, Epic is offering character bundles for 3,800 V-Bucks. These packages include the skins, custom glider animations, pickaxes, and emotes.
Reaction from the community has been largely positive, though some players are feeling the pinch in their digital wallets. “The skins look incredible, but buying all three villains will wipe out my V-Bucks savings,” wrote one player on Reddit. Still, the customizable Pixar options are already dominating lobbies, with players showing off ridiculous color combinations and customized gear.
The Bigger Disney-Epic Universe
This launch is only the beginning of a multi-year road map. When Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the partnership in February, he described it as Disney’s “biggest entry ever into the world of games.” He wasn’t kidding. The long-term vision is a separate, interconnected universe where players can watch Disney content, play themed mini-games, and shop for digital merchandise, all powered by Unreal Engine.
Because of this, Epic is keeping a close eye on brand safety. Several of the new Disney skins are subject to age-rating restrictions. They cannot be used in certain player-created creative maps that feature intense violence or realistic weapons. This keeps Disney’s family-friendly image intact while still allowing players to run around with assault rifles in the main Battle Royale mode.
What’s Coming Next?
Epic Games has already hinted that the Chronicles storefront will receive regular updates. While the current focus is on villains and Pixar, future drops are expected to feature classic Disney princesses, live-action franchise characters, and expanded Star Wars options. For now, players can log in, browse the new shop, and decide if they want to rule the island as the god of the underworld or a plastic toy space ranger.
