Disney Villains Join Fortnite Item Shop for Fortnitemares 2026
The wait is over. Epic Games officially started its annual Fortnitemares event today, and it is bringing some of the most famous antagonists in cinema history along for the ride. After months of rumors, the Disney Villains collection has finally landed in the Fortnite Item Shop, marking a massive milestone for the ongoing partnership between Epic and Disney.
Players logging in today will find three iconic Disney baddies waiting for them: Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella de Vil. Each character has been recreated in Fortnite’s signature art style while keeping their classic animated looks intact. They are not just simple reskins, either. Epic went all out on the details, giving each character unique back blings, pickaxes, and emotes that reference their classic films.
The Dark Trio Arrives
Take Maleficent, for instance. The Mistress of All Evil looks imposing in her flowing black and purple robes. Her bundle includes her faithful raven, Diablo, who perches on her shoulder as a back bling. For a harvesting tool, she wields her signature magic staff, which glows with green flames whenever you swing it at a chest or a wall.
Then there is Captain Hook. The elegant pirate captain comes with his rapier as a pickaxe and a miniature Jolly Roger sail for a back bling. He even has a built-in emote where he frantically checks his pocket watch for the tick-tock crocodile. Cruella de Vil rounds out the trio. She brings a high-fashion look to the island, complete with her signature black-and-white hair and a sprawling fur coat.

Pricing and Bundles Breakdown
- Individual Skins: 1,500 V-Bucks each (includes the outfit and matching Back Bling).
- Disney Villains Bundle: 3,800 V-Bucks. This package includes all three characters, their respective back blings, harvesting tools, and an exclusive loading screen featuring the villains planning their next victory royale.
- Pickaxes & Gliders: Available separately ranging from 500 to 800 V-Bucks.
Spooky Map Changes and Horde Rush
But these cosmetics are just the tip of the spear for Fortnitemares 2026. The island itself has undergone a spooky transformation. Thick fog now covers the lower valleys of the map, and several points of interest have been overrun by shadow creatures. Epic has also unvaulted some fan-favorite Halloween weapons. The Pumpkin Launcher is back, firing explosive jack-o’-lanterns that deal massive structure damage. The Wood Stake Shotgun has also returned, which is perfect for dealing with the NPC vampires wandering around the new ruins near the center of the map.
Horde Rush is back too. The popular co-op mode lets teams of four fight off waves of Cube Monsters while moving across the map. This year, the mode features new boss fights and unique rewards. Completing these challenges unlocks free Halloween-themed cosmetics, including a new wrap and a spooky loading screen, so you do not have to spend V-Bucks to participate in the fun.
The Growing Disney Partnership
Social media has already exploded with reactions to the new skins. Within minutes of the shop reset, players were sharing clips of Cruella de Vil doing popular TikTok dances, a bizarre but hilarious sight that only Fortnite can deliver. “Seeing Maleficent hit the Griddy is something I never thought I would witness,” wrote one fan on X.
This collaboration is the latest step in Disney’s massive $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games, which was announced back in early 2024. Since then, we have seen Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar characters slowly weave their way deeper into Fortnite’s ecosystem. Rumors suggest we might see an entire Disney-themed persistent world inside Fortnite in the near future. For now, terrorizing lobbies as Captain Hook or Maleficent is a great starting point.
The Disney Villains skins are available now, but they will not stay in the shop forever. Epic typically keeps Fortnitemares cosmetics in rotation until the event wraps up in early November. If you want to terrorize the island in style, you should probably grab them before they vanish back into the vault.
