Fortnite Debuts Reactive Disney Villains Skin Collection
Epic Games is bringing some serious magic to the battle royale island, and it is not the friendly kind. Ahead of the highly anticipated Fortnitemares 2026 event, the developer has officially revealed its first-ever fully reactive Disney Villains cosmetic collection. Leading the charge are two of cinema’s most famous antagonists: Maleficent and Ursula.
This crossover is different from previous Disney collaborations. While players have enjoyed skins from Star Wars, Marvel, and even Pixar in the past, these new additions mark a major technical leap. They are the first Disney skins in Fortnite history to feature full gameplay reactivity.
How the Reactive Skins Work in Battle
The reactivity is tied directly to how you play. Take Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil. When you land on the island, she appears in her classic, elegant black-and-purple robes. But as you rack up eliminations, her eyes begin to glow with a bright, eerie green energy. By the time you reach five kills, green dragon fire starts crackling along the hem of her cloak, pulsing every time you sprint or jump.
Ursula, the infamous sea witch, gets an equally impressive treatment. While running around on dry land, she sports her signature menacing look. The moment you step into any body of water on the map, however, her lower half comes alive. Her dark tentacles begin to squirm, glowing with a bioluminescent purple light that matches the neon aesthetics of Fortnite’s current map design. Securing a victory royale with either skin triggers a unique animation, blanketing the immediate area in their signature dark magic.
What is Included in the Bundles?
Epic Games is not cutting corners with the accessories. Each character comes with a dedicated set of gear that players can buy individually or as part of a discounted bundle.
- The Maleficent Pack: This set includes the Maleficent skin, the “Spinning Wheel” back bling, and her iconic gold staff as a harvesting tool. She also gets a glider called “Diablo’s Wings,” which lets players swoop down from the battle bus using massive, dark feathered wings that sprout directly from her back.
- The Ursula Pack: The sea witch comes with a glowing “Cauldron of Souls” back bling. Her pickaxe is King Triton’s stolen trident, which crackles with golden lightning. She also features a built-in emote where she performs a brief, sinister laugh as dark magic swirls around her.
These cosmetics represent the growing relationship between Epic Games and Disney. Following Disney’s massive 1.5 billion dollar investment in Epic, fans expected deep integrations. Starting the spooky season with legendary villains shows exactly where this partnership is heading.
Release Date and Pricing
The Disney Villains collection is scheduled to hit the Fortnite Item Shop on October 12, 2026, just as the Fortnitemares map updates go live. Individual skins will cost 2,000 V-Bucks each. If you want the whole set, the “Disney Villains Bundle” will be available for 3,800 V-Bucks, saving players a chunk of in-game currency.
Community hype is already building. Social media platforms are filled with players planning their locker loadouts. Fortnitemares is always one of the biggest events on the gaming calendar, and this year, the bad guys are definitely stealing the show.
