Fortnite’s Graveheart Bundle Tied to Physical Gift Cards
Epic Games is trying something old-school to get Fortnite players back into physical stores this autumn. Starting October 1, 2026, the gaming giant is launching an exclusive in-game cosmetic package called the “Graveheart” bundle. But there’s a catch. You can’t buy it in the digital Item Shop. Instead, players will have to track down physical Fortnite V-Bucks gift cards at major brick-and-mortar retailers.
The promotion targets shoppers at massive retail chains. Stores like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop will carry the specially marked cards. According to Epic, the deal runs through the holiday season, giving fans a physical gifting option that comes with some extra digital swag.
What is Inside the Graveheart Bundle?
The star of the show is the Graveheart Outfit, a gothic-inspired character skin that features stone-textured armor and dark, ethereal accents. Along with the skin, buyers will unlock the “Grave Obsidian” back bling and the “Heartcarver” pickaxe. To top it off, the bundle includes a unique wrap for weapons and vehicles. It’s a complete loadout that is bound to turn heads in the pre-game lobby.
This move highlights a growing trend of video game publishers partnering with physical retailers to drive foot traffic. While digital sales dominate the gaming industry, physical gift cards remain a massive revenue driver, especially during the holidays when parents and relatives look for tangible gifts to wrap.
Industry analysts suggest this strategy helps Epic strengthen its relationships with major retailers.

Why Retailers Love the Partnership
“Physical shelf space is still incredibly valuable,” says gaming retail analyst Marcus Vance. “By tying a highly anticipated cosmetic bundle to a physical card, Epic gives stores a massive boost. It’s a win-win. Retailers get foot traffic, and Epic gets prominent display space right as holiday shopping begins.”
The mechanics of claiming the bundle are straightforward. When a player purchases a physical Fortnite gift card at a participating store, the receipt or the card itself will feature a redemption code. Logging into an Epic Games account and entering the code unlocks the Graveheart items immediately, alongside the standard V-Bucks balance loaded onto the card.
Epic confirmed that the promotion applies to cards of various denominations, though a minimum purchase of a $10 card is required to trigger the bonus. The company also warned that stocks of physical cards might run low at certain high-traffic locations, urging players to check with local stores early in October.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Epic has used physical retail promotions to create buzz. Over the years, the developer has offered various minty pickaxes and exclusive sprays through retail codes. However, bundling an entire character skin and gear set with standard gift cards represents a much larger push into physical-digital crossovers.
The Secondary Market Frenzy
This exclusivity is also expected to trigger a frenzy on the secondary market. In the past, rare retail codes have ended up on auction sites for triple their retail value. Players who don’t live near a major retailer—or live in countries where these physical cards aren’t distributed—often turn to online resellers just to get their hands on the exclusive cosmetics. Epic hasn’t said whether the Graveheart bundle will ever hit the digital Item Shop later on, so these physical cards are currently the only way to secure the set.
As October 1 approaches, expect to see dedicated displays popping up near checkout lanes at your local stores. Fortnite fans who want to add some gothic flair to their lockers will need to put down their controllers, head outside, and grab a card the old-fashioned way.
