Fortnite Leak Reveals ‘Wednesday’ Crossover for Fortnitemares

Epic Games has a habit of leaving its best secrets buried right under our noses. This week, the release of the v36.10 update gave dataminers another goldmine to dig through. The files are out. The details are juicy. What they found points directly to the next iteration of Fortnitemares, and it looks like Netflix’s resident goth icon is taking center stage.

According to prominent community leakers like ShiinaBR and HYPEX, files tucked inside the new patch hint at an official collaboration with Wednesday, the hit streaming series starring Jenna Ortega. The crossover is slated to spearhead the upcoming seasonal event, bringing a dark, retro-gothic vibe to the island.

Wednesday Addams Joins the Loop

The leaked files contain several strings of code referencing a character codenamed “Gloomy_Teen.” For seasoned Fortnite sleuths, connecting the dots did not take long. Digging deeper into the cosmetics metadata revealed references to an interactive emote that mirrors the viral Rave’N dance from the show’s first season. There is also mention of a “Severed_Hand” buddy back bling, which almost certainly means Thing will be riding shotgun on players’ backs.

We can also expect Wednesday’s signature black school uniform as her primary outfit, alongside an alternative casual look. Rumors suggest her cello might make an appearance as a harvesting tool. Epic has yet to comment on the leaks, but the timing fits perfectly with their usual production cycle for major autumn events. Epic loves a good pop-culture crossover, and securing the Addams Family license is a massive win.

Gothic Overhauls and New POIs

It is not just about the skins, though. The v36.10 patch notes may look standard on the surface, but the backend map files tell a different story. Several coordinates on the current island are flagged for major visual updates.

Leakers have identified three new codenames for upcoming Points of Interest (POIs):

  • “Shadow_Manor”: A sprawling, multi-story estate filled with secret passages and dusty library rooms.
  • “Grim_Academy”: A gothic boarding school that looks suspiciously like Nevermore Academy, complete with a courtyard and tall, menacing spires.
  • “Whispering_Woods”: A dense, fog-covered forest area designed to disorient players during late-game circles.

These changes suggest Epic is leaning heavily into a classic horror aesthetic. Fog machines and eerie ambient music tracks are reportedly hidden in the audio directories, ready to activate once the Fortnitemares event kicks off. It will completely transform the feel of the map.

Spooky Mythic Weapons Codenames Revealed

Every good Fortnitemares event needs some overpowered gear to shake up the meta. This time, dataminers spotted three distinct mythic weapon codenames in the v36.10 files. These items are expected to drop from boss NPCs lurking in the new gothic POIs.

First up is the “Dirge_Bow”. Early stats suggest it fires explosive arrows that release a small cloud of damaging bats upon impact. Then there is the “Nightshade_Scythe”, a melee weapon that apparently grants a speed boost and health siphon on successful eliminations. Finally, files mention something called “Stitch_Fists”, which could tie back to a Frankenstein-like monster mechanic or another horror crossover entirely.

How these will balance against the current loot pool remains to be seen, but they are bound to cause chaos in both casual and competitive lobbies. Over the years, Fortnitemares has hosted iconic villains like Michael Myers, Jack Skellington, and Alan Wake. Wednesday Addams fits right into this legendary lineup.

When is Fortnitemares Arriving?

While the v36.10 build is currently being tested on staging servers, the actual event is still a way off. Fortnitemares traditionally dominates the month of October, meaning players will have to wait a bit to see these leaks materialize. However, the early presence of these assets suggests Epic is ahead of schedule, likely finalizing the licensing and animation work to avoid any last-minute bugs.

For now, players can keep an eye on the skyboxes and minor map changes. Epic usually leaves tiny teasers in-game weeks before the main update drops. If you start seeing black ravens nesting on the rooftops of your favorite drop spots, you will know Wednesday is close.
