Fortnitemares 2026: Chappell Roan Concert & Wednesday Crossover
Epic Games has finally pulled back the curtain on Fortnitemares 2026, and this year’s spooky festivities are shaping up to be some of the biggest in the game’s history. The developer confirmed a packed lineup of events, headlined by a virtual concert from pop sensation Chappell Roan and an official crossover with Netflix’s hit series Wednesday.
The annual Halloween event is always a major moment for the battle royale. For 2026, Epic is leaning hard into a mix of gothic drama and theatrical pop. Players can expect the usual map changes and spooky weapons, but the main draws are clearly the high-profile collaborations.
Chappell Roan Brings the Drama to the Island
First up is the virtual performance. Chappell Roan, known for her campy, high-energy style and dramatic stage outfits, will take over a dedicated creative island for a multi-day interactive concert. Epic says the show will feature surreal, neon-gothic environments that morph based on the songs she performs. Hits like ‘Pink Pony Club’ and ‘Red Wine Supernova’ are set to get custom, playable sequences where gamers fly, bounce, and dodge obstacles in rhythm with the music.
Of course, a Fortnite concert means Item Shop goodies. A Chappell Roan skin is on the way, complete with multiple styles reflecting her most famous live performance outfits. Players can also purchase themed emotes, including one that lets them perform her viral choreography. The virtual concert is scheduled to run multiple times starting October 23, making it easy for fans in different time zones to catch the show.
Welcome to Nevermore Academy
If glittery pop isn’t your thing, the other half of Fortnitemares 2026 leans directly into the macabre. Epic has partnered with Netflix to bring the world of Wednesday to the island. Rather than just a simple character skin, this crossover includes custom-built adventure maps modeled after Nevermore Academy and the gloomy town of Jericho.

Players can jump into these limited-time maps to solve mystery quests, explore the iconic quad, and even take cello lessons in Wednesday’s dorm room. Completing these challenges will unlock free spooky cosmetics, including a gothic umbrella glider and custom weapon wraps.
The Wednesday Addams outfit will land in the Item Shop on day one. Epic went all out on the details here. The skin features her signature deadpan expression and black-and-white school uniform. Even better, players can equip ‘Thing’ as a back bling. The severed hand will actually react to gameplay, pointing in the direction of nearby footsteps or tapping its fingers when you stand still. There is also a traversal emote that lets players recreate the famous school dance scene from the show.
Classic Spooky Gameplay Returns
Beyond the pop culture crossovers, classic Fortnitemares mechanics are making a return to the main Battle Royale island. The map will get a dark makeover. Thick fog will roll into low-lying areas, and creepy pumpkin lanterns will illuminate the roads. The iconic Pumpkin Launcher is back in the loot pool, alongside Witch Brooms that offer quick aerial escapes.
The popular Horde Rush mode is also back for a limited time. In this co-op mode, squads of four must work together to fight off waves of Cube Monsters while moving across a rapidly shrinking map. Epic has tweaked the mode this year, adding new elite monster variants and a massive boss fight at the end that requires careful coordination to defeat.
‘Fortnitemares is always about pushing the boundaries of what a seasonal event can be,’ an Epic Games spokesperson said. ‘By bringing together Chappell Roan’s vibrant theatrical world and the dark charm of Wednesday Addams, we are giving players two completely different, yet equally thrilling ways to celebrate the season.’
The Fortnitemares 2026 event officially kicks off on October 13 and runs through November 3. All players can participate in the map events and concert for free, while cosmetic items will be available for purchase using V-Bucks in the in-game shop.
