Fortnitemares 2026: Epic Games Reveals Huge Horror Crossover Skins
A New Nightmare on the Island
Halloween is coming early to the battle royale. Epic Games has officially pulled back the curtain on its highly anticipated Fortnitemares 2026 lineup, confirming weeks of feverish speculation among the player base. This year’s annual spooky event is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious yet, leaning heavily into classic cinema, dark fantasy, and iconic slashers that fans have been begging to see for years.
The centerpiece of the announcement is a star-studded roster of horror legends making their virtual debut. For years, players have crafted custom concepts of their favorite big-screen monsters. Now, Epic is bringing those designs to life with official, fully licensed cosmetics that will hit the Item Shop over the course of October.
A Night of Icons: The Headlining Skins
The standout addition of Fortnitemares 2026 is undoubtedly the arrival of Billy the Puppet from the legendary SAW franchise. Epic has spared no detail in capturing the creepy aesthetic of Jigsaw’s messenger. The outfit features the signature black suit, red bow tie, and pale, spiral-cheeked mask. To make the bundle even more appealing, players can purchase a built-in traversal emote that allows them to ride Billy’s infamous red tricycle across the island. It is creepy, hilarious, and exactly what fans wanted.
Joining Billy is another heavy hitter: Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Epic has managed to keep the character’s menacing vibe intact while adapting him to the vibrant, cartoonish world of Fortnite. Leatherface comes with his iconic yellow apron, a stitched-skin mask, and a chainsaw harvesting tool that revs loudly every time you strike a building or resource node.
If slashers are not your thing, the collaboration with classic dark fantasy should scratch that itch. Edward Scissorhands is finally making his way to the island. His skin is incredibly detailed, showcasing the intricate leather straps, buckles, and, of course, those famous scissor hands. While players might wonder how he holds a regular assault rifle, Epic has designed custom animations that make the gunplay look natural, even with giant shears for fingers.
Disney Villains Join the Fray
In a surprising twist, Epic is also leveraging its deep partnership with Disney to bring some classic animated evil to the party. This year, the Disney Villains collection takes center stage as part of the Fortnitemares festivities. Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella de Vil are all getting their own unique, stylized Fortnite interpretations.

Maleficent features a transformation emote that temporarily turns her into a massive, shadow-breathing dragon for a few seconds when she wins a match. Captain Hook comes with his signature rapier as a pickaxe and a Jolly Roger glider. Cruella, on the other hand, sports a high-fashion, punk-rock-inspired look that fits perfectly with Fortnite’s chaotic aesthetic. These skins offer a slightly lighter, yet still delightfully wicked, alternative to the pure horror icons.
Gameplay, Weapons, and Map Changes
Of course, a Fortnitemares event is nothing without some gameplay shakeups. Epic confirmed that several fan-favorite spooky weapons are coming out of the vault. The Pumpkin Launcher is back, complete with its iconic cackling sound effect. The Wood Stake Shotgun also makes a return, offering a reliable counter to players who rely too heavily on fast movement.
The island itself is getting a gloomy makeover. Fog will roll in across the lowlands as the sun sets, reducing visibility and making sneak attacks much easier. Several key locations are being haunted by NPC bosses. Defeating these bosses will yield mythic weapons, including a new variant of the Witch Broom that allows for rapid vertical traversal.
For cooperative players, the beloved Horde Rush mode is back. This time, players can team up to fight off waves of Cube Monsters while earning exclusive, free cosmetic rewards, including a spooky weapon wrap and a loading screen designed by popular community artists.
Pricing and Release Schedule
Epic Games plans to roll out these cosmetics in waves starting in mid-October, leading all the way up to Halloween night. Individual character skins are expected to cost between 1,500 and 2,000 V-Bucks. Full bundles, which include back blings, gliders, wraps, and emotes, will be priced around 2,500 to 2,800 V-Bucks.
Community feedback has been overwhelmingly positive so far. Players are already debating which skin to buy first, with social media platforms buzzing over the sheer variety of this year’s lineup. Whether you want to terrify your opponents as a classic slasher or show off your dark side as a Disney legend, Fortnitemares 2026 has something for everyone. Keep your eyes on the Item Shop, because these nightmares are about to become a reality.
