Halloween is still months away. Yet, Fortnite players are already looking ahead to the spookiest time of the year. Recent leaks have pulled back the curtain on Epic Games’ plans for Fortnitemares 2026, and the lineup is massive. If the latest data mines are accurate, players will soon fight as Wednesday Addams and the legendary Count Dracula.
The news broke after several prominent Fortnite leakers discovered codenames and early rendering files tucked inside a recent game update. While Epic Games usually keeps its autumn plans under lock and key until October, these early discoveries have already sent the community into a frenzy. It looks like the developer is aiming for a perfect mix of modern streaming hits and classic gothic horror this year.
Wednesday Addams Joins the Battle Royale
The highly anticipated arrival of Wednesday Addams is easily the biggest talking point of the leak. Ever since her Netflix series became a global phenomenon, fans have begged Epic Games to bring the sullen teenager to the Island. It seems those requests have finally been answered.
According to trusted community insiders, Wednesday will feature her iconic Nevermore Academy uniform. She will sport her signature dual braids and deadpan expression. But the skin itself is only half the story. Leakers point to a range of matching cosmetics designed to complete her look.
Cosmetics and Emotes to Watch
No Wednesday crossover would be complete without her loyal companion. Thing, the severed, sentient hand, is heavily rumored to be the featured back bling. Sources suggest Thing will be highly reactive. He might tap his fingers when you get an elimination or gesture nervously when your health bar drops. Additionally, a built-in emote recreating Wednesday’s viral school dance is reportedly in the works. This emote will likely allow players to recreate her iconic, moody choreography on the battlefield, complete with gloomy lighting effects.
The Lord of Vampires Arrives
While Wednesday represents modern pop culture, Epic Games is also paying tribute to horror royalty. Count Dracula is set to make his official Fortnite debut. While the game has featured generic vampires in the past, this skin is reportedly a licensed, classic interpretation of the famous literary villain.
Leaked concepts describe Dracula as a towering figure draped in a heavy, high-collared cape. He wears Victorian-era formal wear and exudes a dark, aristocratic menace. Rumors suggest his harvesting tool will be a silver-accented gargoyle staff, while his glider will allow him to descend onto the map as a swarm of fluttering bats. Players might also get a built-in traversal emote that lets Dracula levitate slightly off the ground, leaving a trail of dark mist behind him.
Epic’s History of Halloween Hits
These rumored crossovers fit perfectly into Epic Games’ long-standing strategy for Fortnitemares. Over the years, the developer has turned the event into a massive celebration of pop-culture horror. Past years have seen the arrival of iconic characters like Michael Myers, Jack Skellington, Ash Williams, and Alan Wake. By adding Wednesday and Dracula to the roster, Epic continues to bridge the gap between old-school cinema and modern television trends.
This approach keeps the game fresh for older players who grew up with classic horror literature, while also appealing to younger fans who binge-watch the latest streaming hits. It is a formula that has consistently made October one of the most profitable and highly played months for Fortnite.
When Does Fortnitemares 2026 Begin?
Historically, Epic Games launches its Fortnitemares event in mid-October. It usually runs through the first week of November. Insiders predict the 2026 edition will kick off around Tuesday, October 13. This fits perfectly with the game’s standard Tuesday update schedule.
Along with the new skins, the event will likely transform the Fortnite map. Expect heavy fog to roll over the Island, spooky decorations in major towns, and the return of the fan-favorite Horde Rush mode. Players can also look forward to earning free rewards by completing special in-game Halloween challenges.
As for the cost, these collaborative skins do not come cheap. Players should expect to pay around 1,500 V-Bucks for individual skins, while the full character bundles—including gliders, emotes, and harvesting tools—will likely retail between 2,200 and 2,800 V-Bucks. If you want to grab both Wednesday and Dracula, it is time to start saving your V-Bucks now.
Epic Games has not yet made an official announcement regarding these leaks. However, given the track record of the data miners involved, it is safe to say that October is going to be a thrilling month for Fortnite fans.
