Fortnite Leak Reveals Kingdom Hearts Sora and Riku Skins
Fortnite is doing it again. Epic Games is bringing Disney and Square Enix’s beloved Kingdom Hearts franchise to the battle royale. It is the crossover fans have begged for since Sora made his surprise debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Now, the keyblade wielders are officially preparing to drop onto the Island.
Sora and Riku are Coming to the Loop
Reliable data miners, including community fixtures like ShiinaBR and HYPEX, first spotted the collaboration files in the latest game update. The upcoming drop brings the series’ two primary protagonists, Sora and Riku, into the battle royale. But these are not just static, one-note cosmetics. Epic is leaning heavily into customization, allowing players to represent different eras of the long-running action-RPG series.
Take Sora, for instance. Players who purchase his outfit will not be locked into just one look. The skin features multiple selectable styles. You can run around in his classic, oversized red-and-blue shorts from the original 2002 PlayStation 2 game. Or you can swap to his sleeker, more mature outfits from Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III. Rumors also point to a reactive style that glows when you shield up or rack up eliminations. It is a level of detail that shows Epic knows exactly what the fanbase wants.
Riku isn’t getting shortchanged either. The silver-haired warrior comes with his iconic black-and-yellow vest from the first game, complete with his dark-mode blindfold style. Players can also choose his short-haired, modern look from the later entries.

Reactive Keyblades and Magic Cosmetics
You cannot have Kingdom Hearts without Keyblades. The crossover introduces the legendary Kingdom Key and Riku’s Way to the Dawn as reactive harvesting tools. Hit a weak point while gathering wood or metal, and the Keyblade flashes with light, releasing the franchise’s signature bright star-shaped particles. Get an elimination, and you might hear the iconic lock-on chime that fans know by heart.
Beyond the main characters, the Item Shop bundle will reportedly feature a Gummiship glider and a King Mickey back bling. Yes, the king himself is making an appearance, though only as a shoulder-mounted companion for now. There is also chatter about a custom lobby track, though licensing hurdles with Japanese record labels might make that a tough get for Epic.
The crossover also features a built-in emote called Light’s Call. Activate it, and your character summons their keyblade in a flash of light, holding it high as floating hearts surround them. It is cheesy, dramatic, and perfectly on-brand.
Release Date and Pricing
Epic Games hasn’t set an official release date yet, but insiders suggest the bundle will hit the shop late next week. The full bundle will likely cost around 2,800 V-Bucks, while individual skins should go for 1,500 V-Bucks each. It is a steep price, but for a crossover of this magnitude, most players won’t hesitate to pull the trigger.
This partnership highlights Epic’s growing relationship with Disney. Earlier this year, Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games to build an expansive, persistent universe within Fortnite. We have already seen massive Marvel and Star Wars seasons. Bringing Kingdom Hearts—a franchise literally built on the concept of traveling between Disney worlds—into Fortnite feels like a natural next step. It opens the door for even more classic gaming crossovers down the line.
